A View From Above

In the modern world of video and image capture we are aware of the various cameras that we may be “snapped” by during our daily tasks.

From various cameras and video, we may be captured by speed, CCTV, security, dashcam and a range of other monitoring and surveillance cameras.

Sometimes this is for our security and safety, other times it may impact our hip pocket.

During the 2023 Sprite Club Display Day at the Wigley Reserve at Glenelg, the Google Maps Satellite was traveling over head and captured an image that recorded our Sprites and Midgets (and other vehicles) on display.

Scrolling in you can pick individual vehicles, and the colours stand out for specific vehicles.

This was taken later in the day, as there are spaces between the cars where members have left, so not a full representation of all of the vehicles on display that day.

Here is the ‘live link’ if you wish to check out the view.

This not the first time my Bugeye has been captured by the Google Maps satellite.

A number of years ago the satellite capture my Sprite parked at work in the car park at the Croydon Park College of TAFE.

You can even see my usual parking spots but the oil drops left on the bitumen!
