Enough has been said about 2020 and the different year we have all had.
Both the Sprite Club Committee and I would like to thank all of the Members for their support of the every changing environment that we have been through for the past year.
The Committee will be meeting in early 2021 to plan the Calendar for the coming year. A number of events are starting to take shape with other organisations (Virtual All British Day, British at the Bend, Cavalcade of Classics, etc). We will post this information in the New Year.
One important Sprite Club event is in the early planning – the Australia Day BBQ. Previously held at Gary and Faye Brock’s, the “thong” has been handed to Des and Penny Chabrel to host the event for 2021.
Our special thanks to Gary and Faye for hosting this special event for a number of years – and also to the Chabrel’s for taking up the event.
More info to follow in the new year, but the format will remain as previously (subject to any COVID-19 restrictions), BYO BBQ, salad and sweets and the all-important Thong Throwing Competition.
I would like to take this time to wish all of the Sprite Club members a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year!
Yours Spritely
Gordon Boyce – President and the Committee – Sprite Club of SA
PS: I have just been on the phone to Des Chabrel who will be spending Christmas in hospital this year – our thoughts are with you Des and Penny.
