Pitstop’s, Rezz’s and Pizza’s

It was a crisp, bright August morning as a lively group of Sprites and Midgets rolled onto the petrol station forecourt at the corner of Pulteney and Angas Streets at 7:30am.

Fresh coffees in hand and a first look over Christopher Mignone’s latest acquisition, we were primed and ready to head on to the massive Vic Park Pitstop Cars & Coffee, set right against the backdrop of the iconic Victoria Park Heritage Grandstand.

Despite our best efforts to stick together, we ended up split into two separate parking spots. No worries though, the cool, clear weather made for perfect strolling conditions! The turnout was massive, with an incredible mix of rides spanning every era and style: 1950s classics, early 2000s icons, European luxury, American muscle, Japanese tuner stars, eye-watering hypercars, faithful daily beaters, and even the latest EVs. Something for every gearhead!

By 9:30am, it was time to regroup for a convoy run to the Rezz Hotel and meet up with the rest of the club for a proper breakfast.

Fully re-caffeinated, we handed around a run sheet courtesy of Peter Dineen. Peter treated us to a spectacular route through the Adelaide Hills, winding past lush, vibrant green countryside on beautiful twisty roads that let a few drivers safely test their limits!

We arrived at Chateau Donhardt to a wonderfully warm welcome from Glen and Jodie, plus a roaring fireplace that set the perfect mood. Their wood-fired pizza oven had been heating up for hours, and it didn’t take long before members jumped right in to craft everything from classic savory pizza to sweet dessert creations.

It was a fantastic turnout for a top-notch afternoon, good company, hot wood-fired pizza, and great banter all around!
