Many ancient civilisations have acknowledged this event &#8211; There are feasts, celebrations, rituals &#8211; even the Druids have held built monoliths in recognition of this event in the calendar year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sprite Club of SA usually has a social drive&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recognition of this event (and that the days are going to start getting longer!) Russell and Judy have planned a Southern Sojourn for the next Mid-Week Meander to celebrate the Winter Solstice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In theming with the shortest day of the year there is the usual Schmarr Style Twist and we will take the long way there and shortest route home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Meet at the Blackwood Railway Station Carpark \u2013 Eastern Side<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 cross over the railway if coming from Blackwood Roundabout.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BYO Morning Tea.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the usual interesting drive, we will end up in all directions for the lunch venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note these may be a kilometre or two of good dirt road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please let Russell and Judy know if you are attending for catering purposes \u2013 0403 151 715<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wednesday 23rd\u00a0June \u2013 Meet 9.30am for a 10.00am departure The Winter Solstice marks that point in the year when there is the least amount of hours of daylight.
